Taking care of your kneesViews: 700

In the ongoing exchanges regarding taking care of he knees, I'm not sure the point concerning 'muscle balance'has been covered. In case it hasn't, do remember that strengthening only one group of muscles acting over a joint could cause uneven wear, and make the joint unstable and injury-prone. In the knee, emphasis is usually placed on the 'extensors' ie the quadriceps muscles on the front of the thigh. To even out muscle-pull, the 'flexors' ie the hamstring'muscles situated at the back of the thigh also need to be strengthened with exs such as the 'thigh-curl'

what do you think of the role of GLUCOSAMINE for knee-joint pain problems ?

At BODYFUELZ we are working with sports authority of india to address such issues and have come out with GLUCOSAMINE tablets which will help in joint-knee problems .

I agree, Pesi. To strengthen the knees, we need to focus on strengthening ALL of the muscles surrounging them.

As far as glucosmaine goes, it's an important supplement, for sure, but it won't do us any good if we continue to exercise with bad form and focusing on one muscle group more than another.

Please read my post with heading "Looking YOUNGER, Living LONGER,: Exercise !" This is what I am coming with medicallly without any glucosamine etc.Only glucosamine wont help. One need to do.Amway and Nutrilite is only making money by selling low cost glucosamine at ultra high rates.Nothing more.
A good pair of shoes, maintaining good body weight, regular exercises after warm up,food habits, avoid heavy alcohol, and no to nicotines(smoking) are best way.
